University of West Attica
The University of West Attica (UniWA) was founded in March 2018 through the merge of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. UniWA extends in two campuses comprising 5 faculties and 27 departments. UniWA has 50 established-by-law-decree research laboratories and runs 27 undergraduate and 48 postgraduate programs, 6 of which in collaboration with other national Higher Education Institutions. Moreover, UniWA has 15 collaboration agreements on second and third cycle programs with Greek as well as foreign universities.
The “Educational Technology and E-Learning Systems” (EDUTeL) Laboratory of the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering covers a wide range of scientific subjects ranging from education, to optimization and systems control. It participates in many research and development projects in the areas of Systems Simulation and Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Interactive Learning Environments, Design and Implementation of Educational Software, Internet of Things etc. The research team of the Laboratory consists of faculty members, Ph.D. students, postdoctoral researchers and collaborating researchers whose interests are in full alignment with the its scope and activities.
